UrbanFUTURE (UF) has worked in the Tower Grove community in St. Louis since 2001, serving 4th-8th grade students and their families. Students who have participated in the continuum of care have made the transition to high school possessing the academic acumen needed in order to succeed. They have worked with mentors and tutors making it possible for their education and learning to continue on track with their grade level. Currently, UF operates in Mann eMINTS Academy and Fanning Middle School.

Students involved with UF programs have had both quantitative and qualitative results. They have shown improvements in overall GPA, reading comprehension level and literacy. Students read two to three grade levels higher, on average, after only one school year in UF programming. GPAs of students in UF programming are more than a full letter grade higher than students not in UF. Participants have also gained immeasurable knowledge of potential careers, the value of education and confidence in themselves to see and believe in their possibilities.

In addition, because of UF's insistence on parental involvement as a cornerstone for a student's improved success, constructive parental involvement in the schools has increased. During the past school year of 2009-2010, over 60% of UF parents attended parent-teacher conferences, a rate three times higher than that of non-UF parents attending conferences at the same schools.

UF's successes in these schools have made other areas and students desire and request UF services. Other school districts in St. Louis and school districts and in other cities are seeking to implement the Restoration Model in their communities.

The 2009-10 Annual Report documents the successes of the organization and tells the story of achievement for those students who have participated in UrbanFUTURE programming.
